Speak freely. Get clean, finished text.
Hold a key and talk. Pulita removes the “ums”, fixes half-finished sentences and types the result wherever your cursor is.

3 · Let go — Pulita writes
Deutsch → EnglishSo, I’d like to ask whether we could move the meeting to Thursday.
Fixed language
Your language. Never guessed.
Most dictation tools detect the language on their own — and confuse close ones. Slovak comes out as Czech, Czech as Polish. Pulita always listens for the language you set — choose from 45 languages. Automatic detection is there only if you choose it.
Translation
Speak one language. Write another.
Made for working with AI. Small language models running on your own computer understand English best — but you think in your own language. Dictate your prompt the way it comes to you, and Pulita hands it over in clean English.
Set a different output language and Pulita translates as it cleans up — in one step, faithfully, without changing what you asked for.
Your Mac, your rules
Works in any app. Without taking over your Mac.
Pasting yourself needs no permission at all. Pulita copies the finished text and you paste it with ⌘V, in any app. This is how Pulita is meant to be used — not a fallback.
Automatic pasting is optional and needs the macOS Accessibility permission. To be clear about what that means: Accessibility gives an app access to control other apps on your Mac. That is why it stays off until you turn it on yourself, and you can switch it off at any time.
The global shortcut needs no permission. In everyday use, the only thing Pulita asks for is the microphone.
Privacy
Your recordings go to your provider — and nowhere else.
- Direct connection
- Your audio travels from your Mac straight to OpenAI. It does not pass through any Seleniora server and is not stored anywhere by Pulita.
- No history
- Pulita keeps no record of what you dictated.
- Key in your keychain
- Your access key is stored in the macOS keychain. We never see it.
- No account needed
- Install, add your key, start talking. What your provider does with the data is set by their terms — see our privacy policy.
Before you start
What you need
- A Mac with macOS 15 or later
- A microphone
- An internet connection
- Your own paid OpenAI API key — a ChatGPT Plus or Pro subscription does not include it
What it costs you
Pulita is free. You pay OpenAI for what you dictate. Pulita uses gpt-transcribe for speech to text (prices (opens in a new tab)) and gpt-6-luna for clean-up and translation (prices (opens in a new tab)).
What you set up
Four settings: dictation language, output language, shortcut and your API key — plus automatic pasting, if you want it.
Good to know
- The default shortcut ⌥ Space is also used by Alfred, ChatGPT and Raycast. Pulita cannot detect the clash — macOS offers no way to — so if you use one of them, choose a different shortcut.
- A shortcut needs a regular key with a modifier. Fn alone or the right ⌥ key alone does not work.
- Bluetooth microphones such as AirPods can miss your first words. Pulita warns you when this may happen.
- Turning automatic pasting on or off requires restarting Pulita — a macOS limitation. The text is always on the clipboard too.
- Pulita needs an internet connection — your speech is processed by OpenAI.

Questions
How do I get an access key?
- Create an account on the OpenAI API platform, platform.openai.com (opens in a new tab). This is separate from ChatGPT — a ChatGPT Plus or Pro subscription does not give you API access.
- Add a payment method or prepaid credit in your account’s billing settings.
- Create a new secret key in the API keys section and copy it.
- Open Pulita’s settings and paste the key into the access key field.
Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it can use your account at your expense.
What does it cost?
Pulita is free. OpenAI charges you for what you dictate, according to their own prices. That payment goes to them, not to us.
To estimate your costs: Pulita uses gpt-transcribe for speech to text (prices (opens in a new tab)) and gpt-6-luna for clean-up and translation (prices (opens in a new tab)). Current prices are on OpenAI’s pricing page (opens in a new tab).
Is my key safe?
The key is stored in the macOS keychain on your Mac. It is never sent to us — only to the provider it belongs to.
Does Pulita need Accessibility access?
Only if you want it to paste for you. Accessibility gives an app access to control other apps on your Mac, which is why Pulita never requires it. Without it, everything works: the text is on your clipboard and you paste it with ⌘V.
If you turn on Paste automatically in Pulita’s settings, macOS asks you to allow Pulita under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. You can switch the option off and remove the permission there at any time. After switching, Pulita asks to be restarted.
Pulita is missing from the permission list. What now?
On macOS 27 the permission for automatic pasting is called Device Control and Data Access. After you turn on Paste automatically, Pulita may not appear in that list. Add it yourself with the + button — Pulita shows you how.
Does Pulita keep what I dictate?
No. Pulita keeps no history. Once the text is inserted, it is gone from Pulita.
What if my language is not in the list?
Pulita lists 45 languages. If yours is not among them, choose automatic detection instead. It is an option you pick, never a default that overrules your choice.
Can I rely on the result without checking?
Speech recognition and translation make mistakes. Read the text before you send it — especially anything medical, legal or safety-related.
